How do I search for a course?
Use the Search box feature found at the left side of the page to search for courses, programs, or subjects. Make sure to check the course listings for all four UM campuses by using the switcher bar, which is found just below the header and contains the logos of each campus, to view results from each campus.
What credentials do I use to sign in to the portal?
Use your University of Missouri username and password (SSO ID-the same credentials as you use for e-mail) to sign in to the portal. You must be affiliated with a campus in order to sign in to the portal. You may use the portal without signing in; however, some features will not be available to you until you sign in.
I am trying to access my home campus portal, but I keep being taken to another campus' portal page. What do I do?
You can just click on the Sign in button at the top of the page in the header. Once you sign in, the system will automatically take you to your home campus. If you are not already affiliated with the campus, you can use the following links:

I navigated to another campus' information, and now I can't get back. HELP!
If you are signed in, the Home link in the header will always take you back to your home campus.
How do I register for a course?
After using the Search box feature to find a course you wish to take, if you are already a student on that campus click the Register link located on that page near the course information, OR if you are not already a student on that campus click the Apply link located on that page near the course information.
I can't find a course that I wish to take. Where is it?
If you cannot find a listing for a course:
1. Check the course listings for all four UM campuses. Use the Search box feature found at the left side of the page to search for courses, programs, or subjects. Then, use the switcher bar (shown at below), which is found just below the header and contains the logos of each campus when clicked, to view results from each campus.
2. It may be that the course you are looking for is not offered online on any of the four University of Missouri campuses during the current semester.
3. Try your search again using different keywords. Refer to the Search Tips for help. You may also want to try using the Refine Results feature to enter more information about the course you are looking for.If you still can't find it try browsing through the courses by subject to find the one you wish to take by selecting Subject from the drop-down list in the Search box feature.
I have some specific questions about courses or services on a certain campus. How do I submit those questions?
Use the Contact Us link found on the right side of the menu in the header. From there, select the campus you wish to get information about. Contact information for that campus will be displayed.
I need to pay for a course in which I am enrolled. How do I do that?
Use the link to the student information system on your campus (i.e., myZou, My View, Pathways, Joe'SS) located at the bottom of the My Information section of the My eLearning page to access the feature that allows you to pay your bill online.
I'm a student at one campus, but I wish to take a course from another UM campus. Why can't I find the Register button?
You must apply to each UM campus where you wish to take a course. For example, if you want to take a course from MU, UMKC, and UMSL, you MUST apply to all three campuses and be accepted before you can register for courses on that campus. Click Getting Started for the campus you wish to apply to for more information.
How is the portal different from Blackboard?
The portal is a Web interface you can use to link many of the online services from the four University of Missouri campuses. Once you are signed in to the portal, you can click on your course from the My eLearning page and you will be redirected to Blackboard.
I can't find the My eLearning page. Where is it?
You must be signed in to the portal to see the My eLearning page. If you are registered for a course but do not see the menu item for My eLearning, check to ensure you are signed in properly.
How do I access my courses from the portal?
Once you are signed in, click on the My eLearning menu item in the portal header.
How do I view news/events/information from other campuses within the University of Missouri System?
From the Home page, use the switcher bar (shown above), which is found just below the header and contains the logos of each campus when clicked, to navigate to pages of the other University of Missouri campuses.
I'm a Mizzou student, but I'm seeing information on my screen from one of the other university campuses. What happened, and how do I get back?
You probably clicked on another campus in the switcher bar (shown above), which is found just below the header and contains the logos of each campus when clicked. When this happens, the corresponding information from that campus shows up on your page but the main portal header does not change-the header will always be that of your home campus. To navigate back to your home campus information in the main window, either use the switcher bar to select the desired campus, or just click the Home menu item found in the portal header.
I'm only taking two courses online. My other courses are face-to-face. Why are all my courses showing up in the portal?
The portal is designed to provide easy access to all of your classes that have a corresponding Blackboard site. Although your course is taught face-to-face on campus, if it has a Blackboard site you can use the portal to access the class from the My eLearning page.
How many courses can I take using the portal?
If you are a student at one of the University of Missouri campuses, you can take as many online courses as your campus allows, and you can access them all through the portal.Be sure to speak with your advisor to ensure that the courses you are taking apply to your degree completion requirements.
I found the course I wanted to take and clicked on the Save link. Am I registered for it now?
Clicking on Save for a course does NOT register you for a course; it only saves a link to the course in My Saved Courses on the My eLearning page so the course can readily be accessed later.

Search is not case-sensitive.
Combining Search terms - You can combine terms to generate different results. See below:
- Multiple Words - If you wish to find multiple words in a string, just type them into the search field. Example: Using the term American History will generate results where those two words are both listed for a course or program.
- AND - The AND between two terms is implied so there is no need to key it in. For example, keying in American History will generate results containing BOTH those words.
- NOT - Used to exclude a term from the search results.
  - Example: Using American NOT History will only generate results that DO have the word American but DO NOT have the word History.
- QUOTATION MARKS - restricts the search to the exact term(s) within quotations.
  - Example: Searching for American History will return results about American History, but might also return results not related to what you’re looking for that also happen to contain one of those two words-you are not limiting your search to only American History this way. Using quotations - “American History” - will refine the search to only look for results specifically about American History.
Search Terms - Be careful using the words AND, OR, and NOT in your search terms. While these words might be part of a course title, they are also used to give direction to the search engine, and may affect the outcome of your search.
Wildcards - if you don’t know how to spell a word, or if you’re not sure the exact search terms, you can use an asterisk (*) to substitute for a string of characters of any length. You can also use a question mark to substitute for an unknown individual character.
- - Example: Entering American * Studies in the course search will return results for the course American Community Studies.
Use the Refine Results box to narrow your search results. You can narrow results by campus, by course term, by instructor, by student level, by number of credits, or by instruction mode.
